An international sports organizing committee is seeking a Venue Transport Operations Assistant to support the planning and operations for the 2026 Winter Olympic Games in Italy. This role involves administrative support and participation in the main transport operations center. Candidates should have multisport event experience and be proficient in both English and Italian. Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, carrying on the organization, promotion and communication of the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history : 13 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee has been established in 2019 with the purpose of organizing Olympic and Paralympic Games in compliance with the Host City Contract signed jointly by the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the two cities of Milano and Cortina and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).

Furthermore, the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, as well as the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano / Bolzano are all partners in this major national-level project, with the support of the Italian Government.

Position

The person hired will need to assist in the detailed development of Venue Transport operations at all venues (competition and non) and transport hubs involved in the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games. They will need to provide administrative, planning, and operational support to the Venue Transport Operations Manager and the wider Venue Transport team. The role will be divided in two phases, with Planning taking place until December 2025, and Operations starting in January 2026.

During Planning, responsibilities will include :

  • Assisting the Venue Transport Operations Manager in developing the operational plans for all the venues
  • Representing the Venue Transport Operations Manager where necessary, both with internal functional areas and with external stakeholders
  • Producing and presenting supporting documents
  • Providing administrative support to the Venue Transport Operations Manager and the wider Venue Transport team
  • Assisting in the onboarding and training of new Venue Transport team members

In the Operations phase responsibilities will shift to :

  • Participating in the manning of the Main Transport Operations Centre
  • Providing support and oversight to the on-site Venue Transport Managers
  • Keeping detailed logs of incidents for Transfer of Knowledge
  • Assisting the Venue Transport Operations Manager in collating and writing final reports for submission to the IOC
Requirements
  • Previous Multisport games experience preferred
  • Right to work in Italy
  • Working knowledge of English and Italian
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft environment, including SharePoint and Teams; Knowledge of AutoCad and Illustrator a plus
  • Ability to manage time and balance multiple competing tasks, strong resilience to stress
  • Skilled communicator, with an ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and with stakeholders
  • Ability to collect and analyse data from multiple sources
