Fondazione Milano Cortina 2026 is the Organizing Committee for the Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games of 2026, responsible for organizing, promoting, and communicating the sporting and cultural events related to the next Winter Games.

Milano Cortina 2026 will be the first large-scale Olympics in history: 9 Olympic venues, 21 provincial capitals, 2,300 municipalities directly involved, over an area of 22,000 square km.

The Milano Cortina 2026 Organizing Committee was established in 2019 to organize the Olympic and Paralympic Games in accordance with the Host City Contract signed by the IOC, the cities of Milano and Cortina, and the Italian National Olympic Committee (CONI).

Partners include the Italian Paralympic Committee, the Regions of Lombardy and Veneto, and the Autonomous Provinces of Trento and Bolzano/Bozen, with support from the Italian Government.

During the Games, the Medical Services team is responsible for medical care and health planning for all stakeholders, including athletes, officials, media, workforce, partners, and spectators.

The Venue Medical Officer is a physician with expertise in emergency systems and large event management, reporting to the Medical Care Manager (MCM), and working with the Venue Medical Technical Officer (VMTO) and Venue Medical Supervisor (VMS). The role involves strategic and operational responsibilities at venues and during the Games, including coordination of health teams and response to Olympic and Paralympic needs.

Activities include:

  • Developing preliminary strategic plans related to material and human resources for venues
  • Supporting budget definition and releases
  • Supporting strategic and operational planning, including training and medical aspects
  • Liaising and coordinating with venue health teams

During Games and Test Events:

  • Managing the Venue Medical Team and resources
  • Collaborating within the Main Operation Center (MOC)

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the point of contact for Medical Services questions
  • Represent Medical Services in planning processes
  • Maintain planning documents and meeting records
  • Support the Medical Care Manager with planning and issues management

Requirements include: physician with emergency services experience, Olympic/Paralympic Games experience, budget and HR management skills, knowledge of emergency plans and health systems, and proficiency in English.

Skills and expertise:

  • Strong project management and organizational skills
  • Experience in events and medical project management is a plus
  • Excellent reporting, communication, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing priorities
  • Proactive problem-solving and learning motivation
  • Excellent writing skills in Italian and English
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills
