Parexel FSP has an exciting opportunity for a Vendor Start-up Manager to join our dedicated team, based remotely in the UK, Ireland, Italy, Serbia, or Romania.
Job Summary:
The VSM ensures flawless and accelerated vendor service delivery during trial start-up, supports category strategies, standardizes services, and ensures compliance throughout the study lifecycle. This role proactively assesses risks and develops contingency plans to de-risk study start-up and beyond. It manages Patient Recruitment and Retention services/vendors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Review vendor and category-specific protocol sections, leveraging expertise to refine specifications.
- Contribute to the development of Study Specification Worksheets for vendor bidding and selection.
- Review quotes/proposals, support contract negotiations as needed.
- Review vendor budgets, control costs, reconcile invoices, and close POs.
- Provide study demands to VCE for program overview.
- Ensure submission documents are provided by vendors for participating countries.
- Collaborate with trial teams to understand site requirements.
- Share changes to country and site plans with vendors and VCE; support contract amendments.
- Optimize study start-up processes for timely site readiness.
- Ensure vendor service quality and address queries escalated to the vendor category expert.
- Create and maintain vendor risk maps and contingency plans.
- Follow-up on vendor-related risks and issues with countries and hubs.
- Document vendor performance issues, implement corrective actions, escalate if necessary.
- Perform root cause analysis on performance issues.
- Support standards, templates, tools, and process improvements for vendors.
- Assist in vendor qualification data collection across departments.
- Review and approve invoices.
- Develop and support vendor training materials.
Skills & Knowledge:
- Strategic thinking, organizational knowledge, advanced planning, and project management skills.

- Problem solving, negotiation, conflict resolution, and influencing skills.
- Proficiency in English (written and spoken).
Experience & Education:
- 3+ years in clinical operations and vendor management.
- Knowledge of GxP and ICH regulations.
- Experience with clinical trial design, vendor services, and patient recruitment/retention.
- Leadership in supplier relationship management.
- Bachelor's degree in science or business, or equivalent experience.
