Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Senior Vehicle Engineer (with at least 5 years of experience) who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks within the Engineering Department. The position is based in PISTOIA - IT.

Accountabilities:

  1. Support and coordinate during bid and project development of the system's technical design.
  2. Prepare system requirements specifications for mechanical systems.
  3. Analyze suppliers' technical proposals.
  4. Review the technical descriptions of systems.
  5. Verify drawings/documents (Electrical, Mechanical, etc.) for installation and integration on board.
  6. Check FEM analysis reports.
  7. Prepare and verify performance test specifications.
  8. Support on-board integration tests.
  9. Conduct design reviews with clients and suppliers.

Required Skills/Knowledge:

  • At least 5 years of relevant experience.
  • Good knowledge of pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical schemes, as well as bolted and riveted connections.
  • Basic knowledge of electrics and mechanics.
  • Proficiency with office automation software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Knowledge of mechanical design software (AutoCAD, Creo, Catia) and IBM DOORS.
  • Understanding of engineering processes and railway operations.
  • Ability to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, international environment.
  • Ability to work autonomously within teams and projects.
  • Availability for short-term national and international trips.

Education / Qualifications:

Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent technical background (including technical high school graduation).
