Hitachi Rail S.p.A. in Naples, Italy, seeks a Vehicle Integration Engineer to join our fast-paced team. You will work across architecture definition, test planning and vehicle integration, contributing from concept through final validation.

The role requires hands-on engineering with RAMS, regulatory knowledge, and coordination with cross-functional teams; travel for national/international assignments is possible.

Competenze

• Experience in the railway industry; Train Systems Engineer preferred.
• RAMS concepts knowledge is advantageous.
• Knowledge of regulations relating to on-board systems in the railway business.
• Knowledge of main office automation software/tools (Word, Excel, etc.).
• Knowledge of electrotechnical, electronic, system engineering processes and the main regulations in the railway field to manage lifecycle of product subsystems.
• Autocad/Creo/Catia knowledge (design software) preferred.
• IBM DOORS experience.

Job Description

Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic self-motivated Vehicle Integration Engineering who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Naples - IT.

Accountabilities

• Definition of High, Medium and Low voltage Electrical architecture documents
• Definition TCMS vehicle architecture
• Definition of traction characteristics and development of driving simulations
• Development Functional Specifications for the functional integration of the vehicle
• Preparation of the vehicle test specifications
• Support for performance and functional tests of the vehicle

Required Skills / Knowledge

• Experience in the railway industry with the role of Train Systems Engineer is preferred.
• Knowledge of the basic concepts of the RAMS disciplines is an advantage.
• Knowledge of the main regulations relating to on-board systems in the railway business
• Knowledge of the main office automation software/tools (Word, Excel, etc.)
• Knowledge of the electrotechnical, electronic, system engineering processes and the main regulations in the railway field is required, in order to manage, throughout the life cycle of the product and with an interdisciplinary approach, the design activities, development and functional integration of the subsystems of railway vehicle platforms, with particular reference to the topics of architecture, functions and vehicle performance, from the design phase to the final validation phase and analysis of feedback from the field.
• Recommended knowledge of electrical/mechanical design software (Autocad, Creo, Catia, etc.)
• Knowledge of the IBM DOORS requirements management tool
• Knowledge of Engineering Processes and Railway Operations.
• Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organisation, with the aptitude to contribute with constructive and practical ideas.
• Readiness to work effectively in a collaborative, fast-paced, multitasking international environment.
• Ability to work autonomously in teams and for projects is required.
• Availability for short-term national and international business trip.

Education / Qualifications

• Electrical, Electronic or Automation and Robotics Engineering Degree.

Languages

• Fluent Knowledge of English (written & spoken).
