Munich Re Group in Milan is seeking an Underwriting Assistant to support underwriting administration for MRRSI and European branches. You will handle data entry, document filing, invoicing and policy issuance with a focus on accuracy and timely service.

The role offers exposure to regulatory standards, Contract Certainty, and cross-functional collaboration with underwriting and operations teams to improve processes and customer outcomes.

Competenze

• Previous experience in insurance, reinsurance or financial services environment is preferred.
• Understanding of underwriting principles, policy documentation and Contract Certainty standards.

Mansioni

• Support end-to-end underwriting administration with accurate data entry and data quality.
• Manage policy documents, endorsements, placing and invoicing, and file management.
• Assist portfolio administration with renewal lists, clearance lists and accumulation controls.
• Support underwriters in maintaining data quality and compliance with internal procedures.
• Contribute to Contract Certainty and other regulatory/compliance processes.
• Assist with invoicing, credit control and aging debt monitoring as required.
• Participate in projects and cross-functional initiatives to improve operational efficiency.
• Provide general admin support including meeting coordination and minute taking.

Underwriting Assistant, Italy (m/f/d*)

We are currently looking for an Underwriting Assistant to be based in Milan, Italy, on a full-time basis, reporting into the Head of Operations Europe.

In this role, you will provide accurate, timely and high-quality non-regulated support to Underwriting teams across MRRSI, Great Lakes and its European branches, while demonstrating care for customers and respect for the Company's obligations.

Responsibilities:

• Support the end-to-end underwriting administration process, ensuring the accurate and timely entry and maintenance of data across underwriting, pricing and policy administration systems.
• Manage policy, endorsement and placement documentation, including document filing, electronic placing platforms and the issuance of policies, certificates of coverage, endorsements and invoices.
• Support portfolio administration activities through the management of renewal lists, clearing lists, accumulation control processes and exception reporting.
• Assist underwriters in maintaining high standards of operational excellence by ensuring data quality, document accuracy and adherence to internal procedures and service expectations.
• Contribute to Contract Certainty requirements and other regulatory or compliance-related processes, ensuring appropriate controls, governance standards and escalation procedures are followed.
• Support financial administration activities, including invoicing, credit control processes and the monitoring of aged debt where required.
• Participate in business projects, process improvement initiatives and cross-functional activities that enhance operational efficiency and support the wider European business.
• Provide broader administrative and team support, including meeting coordination, minute taking and contributing to positive customer and policyholder outcomes through a strong service-oriented approach.

Knowledge and Skills

• Previous experience within an insurance, reinsurance or financial services environment, ideally supporting underwriting or policy administration activities.
• Good understanding of insurance principles, policy documentation, regulatory requirements and Contract Certainty standards.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy when managing data, documentation and operational processes.
• Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across underwriting, operations and business teams.
• Problem-solving mindset with the ability to identify issues, investigate discrepancies and implement practical solutions.
• Customer-focused, adaptable and proactive approach, demonstrating accountability, flexibility and a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365; experience with underwriting or policy administration systems and a relevant degree or professional qualification would be advantageous
