Overview

MAPFRE RE, professional reinsurer of the MAPFRE Group and one of the leading reinsurers in the world, is currently looking for an experienced Treaties Underwriter in China.

This position requires relevant experience within the reinsurance industry, as well as strong analytical, organizational and prioritization skills.

Responsibilities

• Risk underwriting activity in tasks of analysis, pricing, portfolio management, coordination, administration and preparation of underwriting proposals, establishing conditions and/or acceptance of risks. This requires knowledge of underwriting guidelines and operating procedures, exposure risk factors, rating structures, forms of coverage and knowledge of risks to evaluate ratings and rating operations.
• Ensure policies are priced in accordance with corporate guidelines and accurately rated in the relevant policy administration system.
• Regularly meet underwriting quality and production expectations.
• Perform other analytical activities within scope as necessary for proper decision making on portfolio growth or maintenance, and prepare technical reports as required as a result of the analytical work.
• Assist in the development of action plans and market strategies.
• Visit clients and brokers, and represent MAPFRE RE in market events.

Requirements

• Degree: Actuarial, Economics, Business Administration and Management or similar.
• 3-5 years of experience in underwriting.
• High level of Office skills.
• Business fluent in written and spoken Chinese and English is required.
• Ability to understand the needs and challenges of clients and partners.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to manage multiple simultaneous project deadlines.
