Under the direction of a radiologist, this Ultrasound Technologist performs ultrasound diagnostic/therapeutic procedures, requiring independent judgment, ingenuity, and initiative. Assumes responsibility for tasks or procedures as assigned. Performs data entry operations using appropriate hospital software package. Staff member may be required to provide coverage at various locations in the network.
High School Diploma or GED Required
Experience6 months clinical ultrasound experience (inclusive of education) Required
Licenses and CertificationsAmerican Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) eligible. Includes passing SPI exam (Sonography Principles and Instrumentation Exam) or ARRT Sonography certification. Required
Basic Life Support (BLS) Current and valid Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification at the time of hire Required
If ARRT when hired, ARDMS SPI credentialed 180 Days Required
RDMS or RVT credentialed. This includes passing one of the following exams:
Abdomen
Breast
Obstetrics and Gynecology
Pediatric Sonography
Vascular Technology
1 Year or 18 months if hired with ARRT Required
