Two Assistant Professor Positions in Economics for Junior Candidates

Bocconi University invites applications for two tenure-track positions at the Assistant Professor level in the Department of Economics, starting in Fall 2027.

Key information:

• This early-career position is intended for candidates whose PhD in Economics, Finance, or a closely related field was conferred on or after 1 September 2023. For candidates with documented career interruptions that prevented research activity (e.g., parental leave, long-term illness, or comparable circumstances), the cutoff date will be moved back by the length of the interruption.
• Applications are welcome from candidates working in any field of economics.
• The appointment is for an eight-year tenure-track contract. Candidates may be considered for promotion to a tenured position at any time before the end of the contract, subject to successful evaluation.
• Compensation and teaching responsibilities are competitive with those offered by other leading European institutions, with a minimum gross annual salary of 100,000 euros. The final remuneration package will be determined based on the candidate's experience, qualifications and overall professional profile, in accordance with the University's principles of equity, transparency and non-discrimination governing its compensation policies.
• Candidates should demonstrate a strong record of, or clear potential for excellence in research and teaching.
• The application deadline is Sunday, November 15, 2026, at 23:59 Central European Summer Time (CEST).
