Job summary

JD Logistics, part of JD.com, is seeking a dynamic Transportation Manager to lead and optimize our logistics operations across a global network. Ideal candidates have 7+ years in transportation management, a solid background with TMS, and strong leadership and analytical skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or related field.
• Minimum 7 years of progressive experience in transportation management, logistics, or supply chain operations.
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and manage transportation strategies to optimize delivery speed, cost-efficiency, and service quality.
• Oversee daily transportation operations: route planning, load optimization, carrier selection, performance monitoring.
• Manage relationships with 3PL providers, negotiate contracts, ensure SLA compliance.
• Monitor transportation metrics, identify improvements, and implement solutions.
• Ensure adherence to transportation regulations, safety standards, and company policies.
• Lead and mentor a team of transportation specialists for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with warehouse operations, supply chain, and customer service teams.
• Utilize data analytics and technology to drive decisions and optimize processes.
• Manage transportation budgets, control costs, and identify savings opportunities.
• Address and resolve transportation-related issues and escalations promptly.

Job Qualifications**

• Strong understanding of transportation regulations, freight modes (truckload, LTL, parcel, intermodal), and last-mile delivery challenges.
• Experience with transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software.
• Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Strong negotiation and vendor management abilities.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across various departments.
• Proficiency in English; Mandarin Chinese proficiency is a significant plus.
