DB CARGO ITALIA S.r.l., part of the Deutsche Bahn Group, Milan, is seeking a Transport Planner/Engineer (internship) to support rail freight planning and analysis. You will work with internal and external partners to develop transport concepts and optimize costs.

The role focuses on preliminary studies, cost calculations, profitability analysis, and planning activities in collaboration with Infrastructure Manager, offering a hands-on learning experience in a international rail freight

Competenze

• Engineer bachelor’s degree, preferably in Transport Engineering or Civil Engineering with a transport specialization.
• High-level MS Office knowledge is mandatory.
• Italian and English level B2 as minimum is mandatory; knowledge of German or French is appreciated.
• Problem solving, organization and negotiation skills.
• Project management knowledge is a high advantage.
• Relationship-building and efficient communication skills.

The Service Design team within DB Cargo Italia is responsible for the design, development and execution of transport concepts; it deals with commercial, financial and technical BUs, as well as international partners and infrastructure managers, to achieve the best solutions to the lowest production costs.

Main activities

• Support to the preliminary study and analysis for the realization of rail freight services; interaction with internal and external partners
• Support to the production costs calculation and support in commercial activities during negotiations
• Support to the feedback analysis and service profitability calculation
• Support for planning activities and capacity requests to the Infrastructure Manager.

Qualifications

Education and skills

• Engineer bachelor’s degree, preferably in Transport Engineering, Civil Engineering with specialization in Transports, Engineering Management or equivalent qualification with a specialization in the transportation sector.
• High-level MS Office knowledge is mandatory.
• Italian and English level B2 as minimum is mandatory, the knowledge of another language (German / French) is highly appreciated.
• Problem solving, organization and negotiation skills.
• Project management knowledge is a high advantage.
• Relationship-Building and Efficient Communication skills.
