Trainee Ship Broker Capesize

In this position you will join a trainee broker within our Capesize Division and will initially be based in Genoa, Italy. Your first 12 months will be spent developing industry and hands-on experience by working closely within an established and experienced team. Over time you will be taking on client management responsibilities and work towards progression to junior broker.

Responsibilities

• Managing information flow across the desk
• Gathering market insights and preparing reports and position lists
• Supporting senior brokers across markets
• Oversee operations alongside the post-fixture team to ensure and support smooth performance in line with Charterparty terms.
• Develop, grow and maintain client and customer relationships.

Skills and Experience:

• 12 months' experience in an operations or client-facing position highly beneficial.
• Whilst previous experience is not essential, a clear interest in shipping and trading through education or experience is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
• Strong IT literacy and ability to learn new software and systems.
