But what is a Trainee? In this case, it is a person who will be included in a training and development process alongside the Business Navigation Manager for a certain period of time with the goal of acquiring all the necessary skills to cover that role in the future.

You will support the BNOM in creating customer value, driving growth, and optimizing long-term business performance for IKEA Retail by enabling better business decisions, securing efficiency, and leading in accordance with financial and business strategies. This includes ensuring financial and business performance, maintaining a safe and secure environment in compliance with laws, policies, standards, and processes. You will support and challenge the organization through business-case thinking, and take the lead in developing and promoting lean, simple, and effective ways of working.

  • Lead the store Business Plan process together with the store manager and management team, proactively working with local market data to understand people's lives at home and our customers' experience across various touchpoints to provide relevant insights.
  • Drive and coordinate the financial business planning process, ensuring that financial dimensions align with store challenges and priorities, while involving and creating commitment among stakeholders when setting goals.
  • Collaborate with the Commercial Team to identify commercial opportunities and promote the use of business case thinking when evaluating and acting on these opportunities.
  • Develop a full understanding of the Profit & Loss statement for the store and steer actions to keep the store in optimal shape, reduce costs, and consider all impacts on the P&L. Follow up on results, create forecasts, and activate scenario plans if needed.
  • Continuously optimize and develop store results and performance by implementing best practices, identifying opportunities through close gap analysis, and following up on KPIs.
  • Provide relevant, user-friendly business information, promote standardized reporting, and secure organizational competence to analyze and understand performance for making optimal business decisions.
  • Ensure all investments are supported by proper analysis or business ROI, considering all aspects of the different projects.
  • Lead and develop leaders and teams within the BNO function's areas of responsibility. Identify and develop talents and secure succession planning.
  • Create a safe, secure, and compliant environment for customers, suppliers, and co-workers. Ensure the implementation of relevant rules and guidelines in risk and compliance, cash administration routines, and accounting standards.
