Job Title: Tooling Design Engineer

Location: Abruzzo (Hybrid)

Length: 12 Months

About the Role:

Join a high-performance engineering firm working at the forefront of composite manufacturing across advanced sectors including aerospace, automotive, and energy. You’ll take a key role in designing and developing tooling solutions for composite parts, working closely with engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams to deliver precision and repeatability at scale.

Required Skills:

• 5+ years’ experience in tooling design for composite manufacturing
• Proficiency in CATIA V5 or Siemens NX
• Strong knowledge of manufacturing processes including prepreg layup, autoclave, and RTM

Desired Skills:

• Familiarity with GD&T and tolerance stack-ups
• Experience designing for aerospace or motorsport applications

Key Responsibilities:

1. Design innovative composite tooling including molds, fixtures, jigs, and trimming tools.
2. Work with project engineers to ensure tooling designs meet functional, quality, and cost targets.
3. Prepare detailed 3D CAD models and 2D manufacturing drawings.
4. Support DFM/DFA analysis and collaborate with manufacturing during tool validation.
5. Optimize designs for repeatability, thermal expansion, and ease of maintenance.
6. Contribute to continuous improvement of tooling standards, templates, and design processes.
