The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and executing functional tests, analyzing requirements, and utilizing multiple testing methodologies. Candidates should have 1-2 years of relevant experience and proficiency in SQL, JIRA, and functional testing processes, along with effective communication skills.

Position: Functional Test Analyst (Freelance - PIVA)

Location: Italy (Remote)

Contract Duration: 12 months, full-time

Language Requirements: English (mandatory)

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Functional Test Analyst to operate autonomously in designing and executing functional tests within the payments domain. The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in testing, with responsibilities including:

1. Analyzing functional and technical requirements to identify test conditions
2. Designing and documenting test cases in Testbook
3. Executing functional tests (SIT, UAT, regression) in complex environments
4. Using SQL for precise data verification
5. Reporting and managing defects via tracking tools like Jira, ensuring traceability and proper resolution, including retesting
6. Communicating clearly about the status and quality of software

Requirements

• 1-2 years of experience as a Test Analyst or Functional Tester
• Proficiency in Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Knowledge of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban) and Waterfall
• Experience with API testing and batch flows
• Familiarity with testing tools such as JIRA, Zephyr, ALM Octane
• Ability to analyze and understand functional and technical documentation

Nice to Have

• Experience in regulated environments (banking, fintech, insurance)
• Knowledge of SDD, SCT, PagoPA, reconciliations, and flows
