Job summary

OHB Italia is seeking an Opto-Mechanical AIT Engineer in Milano for an immediate start to support telescope integration, optical alignment, and AIT activities with the Telescope AIT Team and Optical Engineers on-site and at the final telescope site. The role includes documentation, integration tests, setup design, and handling of mechanical/optical assemblies, with participation in reviews and night tests.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or higher degree in engineering, aerospace engineering or physics.
• Professional experience of at least 2 years in AIT.
• Good reporting capabilities and clear communication.
• Outstanding teamwork capabilities.
• Understanding of issues, root causes, and solutions.
• Proactive attitude and ability to multitask.
• Good time-management and willingness to travel for mid/long term missions.
• Excellent spoken English and written English are mandatory.
• Basic experience in 3D CAD models tools and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Active part in telescope integration and optical alignment activities with the Telescope AIT Team and Optical Engineers on-site and at the final telescope site.
• Prepare AIT documentation such as Integration and Test Procedures, Setup design, and As-run Procedures.
• Handle mechanical and optical assemblies, tools and GSEs.
• Participate in technical/review/progress meetings.
• Support during night test observations.
