A leading company in the aviation sector is seeking a Technical Writer Intern to support the development of technical publications for Navigation Aid & Non-radar Surveillance equipment. Italy is the Group’s Competence center for the design, production and delivery of Navigation Aids products and Competence Centre for the delivery of non-Radar Surveillance Products. Job ObjectiveThe Technical Writer Intern at Thales will support the development of technical publications for Navigation Aid & Non-radar Surveillance equipment. Under the guidance of senior team members, the intern will contribute to the creation of installation, maintenance, and operation manuals, as well as short descriptions and product data sheets.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs part of the Services Team, the intern will:
Assist in collecting and organizing technical information to produce clear and structured technical documents in line with company standards.
Support the drafting of manuals and data sheets by describing processes using diagrams, drawings, or photos.
Help coordinate with subcontractors involved in technical documentation, under supervision.
Collaborate with engineers and subject matter experts to gather and verify content.
Contribute to documentation consistency between standard and US-specific versions, working alongside other Technical Writers.
Support the configuration management process for the release of documentation.
Currently enrolled in or recently graduated with a Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Engineering, Technical Communication, or related field.
Strong interest in technical documentation and communication.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal.
Familiarity with documentation tools (e.g., Adobe FrameMaker) is a plus.
Fluency in English is required.
Knowledge of additional languages such as French or German is a plus.
Basic understanding of technical equipment or systems is appreciated.
Motivation to learn and collaborate in a technical environment.
