The Technical Systems Administrator is responsible for the overall delivery of the System Architecture Plan and management of associated resources and activities to ensure that InterSystems software is delivered and deployed in line with project requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design, review, and install all InterSystems products, including TrakCare patches, releases, and builds on customer platforms, following quality assurance protocols and Service Level Agreements for software release authorization and installation.
- Administer and maintain hosted solutions and related infrastructure, collaborating with other teams or partners as needed.
- Provide technical support for troubleshooting and performance analysis during implementations.
- Support and test internal and external utilities, such as patching tools and print services.
- Assist Presales teams with technical requests like architecture, configuration, and hardware sizing.
- Create technical documentation, including reference materials, installation instructions, user guides, and knowledge articles.
- Participate in on-site technical training and implementation activities if required.
- Manage scripting, maintenance, and verification of backups.
- Automate routine activities like patch deployment and environment replication.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of operational processes to deliver exceptional service quality.
- Participate in the 24-hour on-call roster service.
Qualifications:
- Deep experience in configuring, implementing, and administering Linux or UNIX systems (preferably SUSE/RedHat).
- Strong scripting skills for working directly with source code and improving system performance.
- Knowledge of information security best practices.
- Creative problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.
- Experience managing mission-critical infrastructure and applications.
- Availability to work outside usual hours when necessary, such as during system updates.
- Experience with monitoring and alerting tools (e.g., Nagios, Zabbix, Cacti).
- Understanding of network deployment and load balancer management.
- Knowledge of configuration management tools like Ansible or Puppet.
- ITIL knowledge.
