With a Master's degree in Food Science or related fields and at least 5 years of experience, you will ensure compliance and drive regulatory success.

Job Purpose :

Provide the latest knowledge of food regulations related to products, ingredients, safety criteria, health and nutrition claims, and other claims applicable to foods in the Region Americas, involving the network of external regulatory experts. Facilitate the application of regulations through active participation in product development projects, underlining regulatory risks and opportunities, and in the labelling process, as content owner and approver of mandatory on-pack labelling requirements.The role reports to the Global Technical Regulatory Associate Director

Key Accountabilities :

Monitor regulations on food, supported by external regulatory experts and databases, and inform the organization about all emerging regulatory changes in Region Americas.

Release regulatory opinions on products, ingredients, communication, underlining all the necessary regulatory requirements and opportunities.

Support the local teams, such us Marketing and RD&Q, to develop mandatory information on packs, following regulations’ evolution.

Act as content owner and approver of mandatory on–pack labelling requirements for Region Americas.

Create and update the nutrition labels for Barilla products sold in the Americas, ensuring compliance with regulations of each country in the region.

Assess and release the preliminary Regulatory Feasibility Analysis for new markets / categories to support importation efforts in North and South America

Develop relationships with selected external regulatory experts

Design and implement Barilla's digital tools for the Global Technical Regulatory team to enhance knowledge and documents management, transmitting the needs to external providers, testing the tools and caring for its update.

Contribute to the deployment of the Global Technical Regulatory Unit mission, purpose and organization into Region Americas

Transfer the knowledge to local colleagues (RD&Q and other departments) on food regulations by training and actively participating in new product development projects

Other duties as assigned

Desired Skills and Background :

  • Masters degree in Food Science, Food Law, Regulatory Affairs, or related field
  • 5 years in research, development & Quality, prefereably with experience in regulatory topics
  • Works great in a multi-project work environment
  • Fluencyin English required
  • Great Analyitical skills
  • Strong project management and negotiation skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across departments
  • Excellent understading of food regulations

As of the date of this posting, the estimated pay range for this role is $99,000-$110,000, plus eligibility to participate in the annual discretionary bonus plan. The actual pay for the position will be determined by various factors, including but not limited to job-related experience, skills, education, location, and internal equity. This range may be subject to change over time.
