Megatron Sensors seeks a CAD Designer to create precise 3D models and 2D drawings for parts and assemblies, ensuring coherence with technical requirements and feasibility throughout the design cycle.

You'll define tolerances, participate in supplier relations, and implement a structured numbering and filing system to support rapid product industrialization in a start-up-friendly environment near Naples.

This role aims to support the development of innovative solutions by creating accurate and feasible 3D models and technical drawings, ensuring coherence throughout the product design cycle and contributing to the successful industrialization of new products.

Summary:

The resource will create 3D models and mechanical designs for new products and parts, according to the different stages of the design cycle, and ensure that they are coherent and feasible.

She/he will participate in the product ideation activities, being knowledgeable about the most appropriate processes to successfully deliver the innovation content.

The resource will be responsible for the drawings needed to submit RFQs, to produce parts and assemblies, as well as for those that will be part of the Product Proposition to the Customers; for each document, she/he will select the most appropriate information to embed.

The CAD Designer will also define and implement a Numbering System, archiving in a structured way the documents according to their statuses, and keeping track of their modifications over time.

Responsibilities:

• Creates 3D models and 2D drawings of parts and products, according to the Technical Requirements, under the technological constraints of the project.
• Selects the most relevant information to include in the drawings depending on their purpose (including those aimed at the Customers), checks the Bill of Material of the Assembly drawings, and ensures the coherence between parts and assembly drawings.
• Defines the tolerances of the parts/products according to the requirements, materials, processes, and cost.
• In doing so, she/he has a proactive role in the relationship with the suppliers, fostering a fruitful collaboration and scouting for new ones.
• Keeps an open window on the main technological trends, in relevant fields such as manufacturing, materials, design.
• Keeps track of the document updates and versions, managing the archive and registering the modification requests.
• Defines, implements, and maintains a Numbering System.

Requirements:

Must-haves:

• Expert with technical drawing
• Understanding the technical requirements
• Proficient use of 2D/3D CAD software (will be tested during the selection process).
• Experience with software for 3D design and simulation.
• Knowledge of the properties of the different materials.
• Fluent in Italian and English (will be tested during the selection process).
• Degree in technical disciplines (Engineering, Physics) or equivalent experience.

Nice to have:

• 3 to 5 years experience in a similar role
• Sound knowledge of the main manufacturing processes of metals and plastics, as well as of their implications in terms of feasibility, precision, costs.
• Experience with SAP-B1 and previous experience in design/bid or product management/production is an advantage
• Proficient user of Microsoft Office – Excel (e.g. pivot tables, VLOOKUP/CERCA.VERT, etc.); Word (e.g. revisions, cross-references); PowerPoint (e.g. timed presentation); Outlook (e.g. categories) – will be tested during the selection process
