Overview
The Technical Engineering Manager is responsible for developing and leading technical teams in delivering quality products on time. This role collaborates with other technical leaders to ensure a cohesive product suite.
What you will be doing
- Ensure the delivery of timely, high-quality results. Collaborate with internal stakeholders to meet business requirements by helping the team prioritize the backlog and contribute to technical solutions through defining user stories.
- Align with the product vision by communicating frequently with technical leadership and the product owner. Establish team organization to support the product direction.
- Lead the team to understand and implement the software development lifecycle. Identify and communicate potential roadblocks proactively.
- Provide technical guidance, hands-on assistance, and promote a team culture emphasizing security, quality, and agility. Remove barriers to productivity.
- Execute department processes and standards, and continuously improve them through effective communication and motivating change.
- Manage and contribute to the approved budget.
- Collaborate with team members and cross-departmental stakeholders to achieve mutual goals.
- Manage department benchmarks, protocols, and objectives. Assess and track employee and team performance against quality metrics. Provide feedback and hold team accountable.
- Handle managerial responsibilities such as hiring, compensation, employment relations, and termination.
- Develop team members through coaching, supporting personal growth, and identifying future leaders.
- Operate as a thought leader within the team, contributing to the department's growth and quality.
- Serve as an escalation point for issues, providing guidance, resolving problems, and removing obstacles.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
- Relevant software industry experience.
- Experience as an individual contributor in Java/Javascript stacks.
- Proven ability to manage technical teams effectively.
