GENERAL JOB FUNCTION:

• Accountable for all activities in product development of the product group, from construction drawing to detailed technical drawing, ensuring delivery within the right cost and lead-time.

Lead in consolidating technical documents and communicating with customers.

RESPONSIBILITIES, DUTIES & AUTHORITIES:

• Main responsibility:
• Product development: Understand test standards, customer protocols, and quality handbooks; develop construction drawings; coordinate testing for passing standards.
• Implement PDR, technical review TDR, FR review, and risk assessments to ensure product quality.
• Review and approve CT, TD drawings, ECR, and ECO before distribution to related departments.

Group activities include launching prototypes, monitoring test results, and implementing improvements.

• Report and escalate critical issues; facilitate communication with customers and internal teams for quick problem resolution.
• Apply ECO procedures and collaborate with departments to resolve mass production issues.
• Support production units with technical issues and product improvements.

Management responsibilities:

• Manage product development, mass production, and ECO processes.
• Ensure timely control and update of ETA drawings.
• Develop technical engineers’ competencies in process development, standardization, problem-solving, CAD, quality standards, FMEA, Poka Yoke, and communication skills.
• Coordinate with TD planning to develop capacity and agree on lead times.
• Lead the team to adhere to SOPs such as SCI-PR-PM-01, SCI-WI-TD-01, and others related to procedures and standards.

Develop construction and technical drawings, assembly instructions, and adhere to procedures like SCI-PR-TD-19, SCI-PR-TD-03, and others.

Key Success Factors:

• Timely delivery of products that pass all tests at target price.
• Increase first pass rate of prototypes accepted by customers.
• Reduce development lead times and standardize profiles and hardware.
• Develop team competencies and share best practices.
• Implement cost-saving projects.

Working Relationships:

Internal: Collaborate with PM, Sales, QA, Production, and other departments; report to R&D Senior Manager.

External: Communicate with customers, material suppliers, and hardware vendors.

Reporting:

Report to TD – R&D Senior Manager; supervise Technical Engineers.
