Contract Type: initial temporary contract in Italy (6–8 months), leading to a permanent local contract in China

Position Summary:
At Ahlstrom, in our Business Unit LLS we develop and manufacture high-performance fiber-based materials used in everyday applications across Laboratory, Diagnostics and Bioprocess industries. Known for our quality, reliability and innovation, we are now expanding our Laboratory and Life Science business. To support this growth, we are looking for a passionate and results-driven Technical Customer Service Engineer to join our international team.
As a Technical Customer Service Engineer, you will play a key role in supporting customers and internal stakeholders across EMEA and APAC regions. Working closely with Product Management, Sales, Operations, Regulatory Compliance and R&D.
Key Responsibilities:
Act as a technical liaison between the company and customers across the EMEA region, providing expert support during product validation, testing and implementation. Analyze technical feedback and test results to guide customers through product selection and application, ensuring optimal performance of our Lab & Life Sciences portfolio.
Contribute to the development and industrialization of new products and production processes. Play a key role in the process of transfer grade process, ensuring technical consistency, process stability and alignment with market requirements.
Manage and evaluate all scientific aspects related to product performance, including defining and refining product specifications and quality parameters. Collaborate closely with the Quality department to establish, review and update test methods, control parameters and compliance criteria for Lab&LS products.
Continuously enhance the company’s technical expertise in the Laboratory and Life Sciences markets. Monitor industry trends, regulatory updates, and competitive offerings to support the strategic positioning and evolution of our Lab&LS portfolio.
Work closely with Product Management and Sales teams to support commercial initiatives with technical insights and product training. Contribute to the creation of marketing and technical documentation, presentations and product datasheets tailored to customer needs.
Provide comprehensive technical support for a diverse range of materials including cellulose, cotton, micro glass and quartz. Help define the scientific and technical requirements of these product families to expand their use in Laboratory and Life Science applications.
Participate in technical problem-solving, non-conformance analysis and customer complaint resolution. Propose improvements to products, processes and services based on data analysis and customer feedback to enhance performance and customer satisfaction.
