A leading global machinery company located in Milan is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to manage supplier relationships and negotiate contract terms. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5 years of experience in a similar role and a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field. Fluency in English and Italian is required. This is a full-time position with an unlimited contract.

What tasks can you expect?

• Purchasing: Review the company's purchase requests for goods and services working with internal departments (such as Automation, Service, Maintenance) to understand their technical needs in terms of materials, components, equipment, or services required.
• Supplier research and evaluation: Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers that can meet the technical needs of the company.
• Contract negotiation: Conduct negotiations with suppliers to obtain the best prices and terms. May also negotiate contract terms regarding product quality, warranties, and supply clauses.
• Supply management: Monitor and manage the flow of supplies. Ensure that required materials or services are delivered in a timely manner and in accordance with established technical specifications.
• Relationship management: Establish and maintain positive, long-term relationships with suppliers.
• Analysis and improvement: Monitor supplier and technical purchasing performance, continually looking for opportunities to improve efficiency, quality and innovation in procurement.

Your Profile

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Economics and Business or a related field or technical high school degree.
• Experience: Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role, preferably in a mechanical company.
• Technical Skills: Knowledge of the market and business environment, preferably in the Machine tools market.
• Language Skills: Fluency in English and Italian is essential.
• Other Skills: Excellent analytical, problem-solving, results orientation and communication skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
