Application Specialist (Temporary role)

Position Overview
For our Abbott Diagnostic Division (ADD) in Abbott Italy, we are currently looking for an Application Specialist (Temporary role).

This role will begin with a training phase in Northern Italy, where the selected candidate will receive comprehensive onboarding and technical preparation. Following this initial period, the main assignment will be in Sicily, which is the core objective of this replacement. The relocation to Sicily is a key part of the role and essential to its long-term success.

Major Responsibilities

  • Deliver customer operator training in Abbott facilities or on-site;
  • Perform new instrument and assay implementations through Test Of Record (TOR);
  • Perform on-site assay investigation, troubleshooting and operator training and coaching;
  • Success in this role is measured by customer satisfaction score (NPS), service key performance indicators achievement and resolution rates.

Education and Competencies Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Bachelor’s / Engineering degree in medical / electrical / mechanical or medical technology is preferred.
  • Proven track record in a similar position supported by management and customer references.
  • Successful engagement with customers, specifically lab staff.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Technical expert for product line responsibility.
  • Strong experience in use of analytical tools and software.
