Systems Engineer – Public Sector (Critical Infrastructure)

Fortinet, a cybersecurity pioneer, welcomes applications for the Systems Engineer – Public Sector (Critical Infrastructure) role. As a key technical advisor and trusted partner, you’ll support government agencies, utilities, healthcare, and other essential services across critical national infrastructure.

Role Overview

You will drive technical enablement, solution design, and architectural leadership to strengthen resilience and secure mission‑critical environments for CNI customers.

Responsibilities

• Guide technical aspects of customer engagement from RFIs to RFPs, coordinating Proof of Concept activities.
• Interpret and translate customer technical requirements into secure, scalable, and resilient solutions.
• Serve as the primary technical contact for Public Sector and CNI customers, supporting account strategy with sales teams.
• Maintain deep knowledge of Fortinet’s portfolio, including OT/ICS, Zero Trust, secure networking, cloud security, and SOC modernization.
• Stay informed on evolving cybersecurity threats, regulatory frameworks, and compliance requirements.
• Communicate value of solutions through presentations, workshops, documentation, and architectural discussions.
• Manage multiple engagements efficiently while delivering high‑quality service to mission‑critical customers.
• Maintain accurate technical records in Salesforce CRM.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of cybersecurity technologies such as encryption, authentication, network security, intrusion prevention, malware protection, routing, switching, LAN/WAN.
• Experience in a pre‑sales engineering role, preferably in Public Sector, critical infrastructure, or regulated industries.
• Familiarity with OT/ICS environments, SCADA systems, or operational technology security.
• Ability to design solutions that are secure, resilient, and compliant.
• Excellent communication skills, translating complex topics for technical, operational, and executive stakeholders.
• Knowledge of protocols such as RADIUS, PKI, IKE, L2TP, IPSEC, firewall, 802.1Q, MD5, SSH, SSL, SHA‑1, DES, 3DES.
• Certifications: CISSP is a plus; OT‑focused certifications (e.g., GICSP) are advantageous.
