A technology solutions provider in Campania is looking for a Systems Engineer III to act as a senior technical advisor for the U.S. Navy’s Maritime Operations Centers. You will oversee daily operations, including systems administration, network engineering, and serving as an advisor to Navy staff. Candidates must have a BS in Information Technology or equivalent experience, strong knowledge in network operations, and must hold a Top Secret clearance. V2X is seeking a Systems Engineer III to act as senior technical advisor in support of the U.S. Navy’s Maritime Operations Centers (MOC). The candidate will be responsible for daily operations of multiple MOC systems, including systems administration, network engineering, end‑user support, requirements analysis, planning, systems integration, and engineering. The role also serves as a senior technical advisor to the N2/3/6 staff and MOC watch team. Top Secret clearance is required (TS/SCI may be required at certain sites).

For the NAVCENT (MOC) portion, the candidate will manage daily operations of Full Motion Video (FMV) and Distributed Common Ground System‑Navy (DCGS‑N). Responsibilities include systems administration, network engineering, end‑user support, requirements analysis, planning, systems integration, and engineering, and acting as a senior technical advisor to the N2/3/6 staff and MOC watch team.

Responsibilities
MOC Job Activities
  • Conduct on‑site troubleshooting and maintenance assistance for cross‑system problems, providing training and coordinating efforts with other shore and afloat Fleet Systems Engineers.
  • Provide networking support to C4I systems (skill sets vary by equipment and capabilities).
  • Coordinate repair of installed C4I systems and offer advisory and systems engineering services.
  • Deliver on‑site engineering and technical support for IT hardware and software upgrades on MOC systems.
  • Support hardware and software maintenance, system architecture, configuration, and baseline development to meet site/node objectives; provide technical and engineering support for web‑based Command and Control (C2) applications and user access.
  • Recommend improvements for effective use of the suite of applications, including Common Operational Picture (COP) management and network connectivity with joint/multi‑national systems.
  • Support fast‑paced operational environments and suggest networking strategy improvements.
  • Assist in preliminary network testing after site upgrades and modifications.
  • Support Information Assurance (IA) operations, including adherence to IA policies, Host Based Security System (HBSS) configuration for C2 systems, Cyber Security inspection support, and Assured Compliance Assessment Solution (ACAS) administration.
  • Provide rapid response for emergent issues, network documentation, and review of security and audit logs & SOPs.
NAVCENT MOC Job Activities
  • Support Naval Central Command (NAVCENT) in the Middle Eastern AOR at Naval Support Activity Bahrain by installing and configuring FMV and DCGS‑N in the C5F MOC and Navy afloat units.
  • Perform network technical duties, including installation, configuration, and upgrade of system hardware and software; interface with customers aboard ships and Maritime Operations Center personnel.
  • Provide training on systems after configuration, as required.
  • Assist in developing TTPs.
  • Support systems in Bahrain, including routine systems administration and IA functions (patching, scanning, STIG, etc.).
  • Travel up to 20% for assignments within the Indian Ocean and Middle Eastern AOR; may be assigned to support FMV or DCGS‑N operations at other AOR locations, including Iraq.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualification
  • BS in Information Technology (or equivalent technical degree) or 8+ years technical experience in related discipline.
Skills
  • Experience with network operations and maintenance, server virtualization, and systems administration (Unix and/or Windows).
  • Experience with FMV and DCGS‑N for NAVCENT MOC.
  • Knowledge of fleet communications architectures.
  • Knowledge of military C2 architectures.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate with senior Navy/DOD officials and technical personnel.
  • Capability to provide training as needed.
Clearance
  • Top Secret (TS/SCI required at some sites).
Preferred Certifications
  • IAT2 (per DoD Inst 8750.1 and Navy guidance) with IA and CE required.
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP certification desired.
  • Experience with Windows or Unix/Linux operating systems; Cisco may be acceptable.
