Mission

As part of the RAM department within the RAMS unit, you will be integrated into a multidisciplinary team responsible for RAMS governance. Your missions will include:

  1. Leading the execution of the RAM Programme for railway systems, subsystems, and products, ensuring compliance with requirements, guidelines, and standards.
  2. Coordinating with prime contractors, subcontractors, and vendors' RAM staff; producing RAM analysis and verification of RAM requirements.
  3. Verifying and approving design, installation, and commissioning of all systems/subsystems/products related to RAM, including Train Control, Passenger Vehicles, and others.
  4. Supporting engineering and product development teams to finalize designs that maximize Reliability and Availability in line with RAM standards.
  5. Assisting the Commissioning Manager in identifying and prioritizing activities to ensure RAM performance during various phases.
  6. Performing RAM governance activities and coordinating RAM referents for each technology involved.
  7. Contributing to delivering systems, subsystems, and products on schedule and within budget.
  8. Reporting progress, deadlines, schedules, and budgets to the Project RAMS Manager or Project Manager.
Accountabilities

Ensure the execution of RAM activities throughout project, bid, and product lifecycles, in accordance with Hitachi Rail processes and guidelines. Responsibilities include:

  1. Establishing RAM programs for projects and products.
  2. Supporting and planning RAM activities.
  3. Managing RAM activities and budgets.
  4. Providing early feedback to design teams.
  5. Performing Failure Mode and Effects Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
  6. Applying reliability modeling techniques such as RBDs, FTA, Markov Chains, and Petri Nets.
  7. Conducting Life Cycle Cost analyses.
  8. Predicting product reliability according to IEC standards.
  9. Applying FRACAS processes.
  10. Ensuring suppliers meet RAM requirements.
  11. Managing interfaces with departments, suppliers, partners, and clients.
  12. Developing and improving RAM standard processes.
Required skills

Candidates should have:

  1. 5 to 10 years of experience in RAMS.
  2. Knowledge of international standards such as EN 50126 applicable to the railway domain.
  3. Background in reliability engineering for industry products/systems (Railway, Aerospace, etc.).
  4. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  5. Knowledge of Isograph Reliability Workbench or equivalent tools.
Education / Qualifications

Technical Degree or equivalent technical background.

Languages
  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of French or Spanish is a plus.
