Mission

As part of the RAM department within the RAMS unit, you will be integrated into a multidisciplinary team responsible for RAMS governance. Your missions include:

  1. Leading the execution of the RAM Programme for railway systems, subsystems, and products, ensuring compliance with requirements, guidelines, and standards.
  2. Coordinating with prime contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and RAM staff to produce RAM analyses and verify RAM requirements.
  3. Verifying and signing off on design, installation, and commissioning of systems/subsystems/products related to RAM, including Train Control, Passenger Vehicles, and more.
  4. Supporting engineering and product development teams to finalize designs that maximize Reliability and Availability, in line with RAM standards.
  5. Assisting the Commissioning Manager in identifying and prioritizing activities to ensure minimum RAM performance levels during various phases.
  6. Performing RAM governance activities and coordinating RAM referents across technologies.
  7. Contributing to on-time, within-budget delivery of systems, subsystems, and products.
  8. Reporting progress, deadlines, schedules, and budgets to the Project RAMS Manager or Project Manager.

Accountabilities

Ensure RAM activities are executed throughout project, bid, and product lifecycles, following Hitachi Rail's processes and guidelines. Responsibilities include:

  1. Establishing RAM programmes for projects and products.
  2. Planning and supporting RAM activities.
  3. Managing RAM activities and budgets.
  4. Providing early feedback to design teams.
  5. Performing Failure Mode and Effects Criticality Analysis.
  6. Applying reliability modeling techniques such as RBDs, FTA, Markov Chains, Petri-Nets.
  7. Conducting Life Cycle Cost analysis.
  8. Predicting product reliability per international standards like IEC.
  9. Demonstrating RAM parameters in operation.
  10. Applying FRACAS processes.
  11. Ensuring suppliers receive appropriate RAM requirements.
  12. Managing interfaces with departments, suppliers, partners, and clients.
  13. Developing and improving RAM standard processes.

Required skills

  • 5 to 10 years of experience in RAMS.
  • Knowledge of international standards such as EN 50126 applicable to railway domain.
  • Background in reliability engineering for industrial products/systems (Railway, Aerospace, etc.).
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Isograph Reliability Workbench or equivalent tools.

Education / Qualifications

Technical Degree or equivalent technical background.

Languages

  • Proficiency in English (spoken and written).
  • Knowledge of French or Spanish (spoken and written) is a plus.
