Location: Gorgonzola, Italy

Gorgonzola hosts the Navigations Air Systems (NAS) domain, which focuses on avionics, navigation, and radar systems for civil air traffic, supporting civilian and military pilots, ATC controllers, and technicians worldwide. Italy serves as the Group’s Competence Center for the design, production, and delivery of Navigation Aids products, as well as non-Radar Surveillance Products.

Responsibilities
  1. Participate in an integrated agile engineering team composed of various disciplines such as Cyber, Software, Mechanics, Radio Frequency, Safety, Design, Service, and Manufacturing, to develop new products or improve existing ones.
  2. Perform studies and simulations to validate innovative concepts and verify their performance on real systems.
  3. Produce and maintain product System Specifications and external interfaces.
  4. Analyze System / Subsystem Specification (SSS) requirements to identify necessary modifications to hardware and software.
  5. Support hardware and software teams in defining subsystem specifications and interfaces.
  6. Prepare the integration system by defining test strategies, writing test procedures, and conducting integration, verification, and qualification tests.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with at least 5 years’ experience or Master’s Degree with 4+ years’ experience.
  • Master’s Degree in Electronic, Digital, Telecom, Mechanical, or Radio Frequency Engineering.
  • Experience in system engineering development.
  • Broad engineering knowledge: Electronics, Software, Telecom, Mechanical, Radio Frequency, and engineering processes.
  • Proficiency with standard Office tools (e.g., MS Office).
  • Strong team spirit to collaboratively achieve objectives.
  • Ability to solve complex problems independently or with support, and communicate solutions clearly.
  • Fluent in English and Italian; proficiency in German or French is a plus.
Additional Candidate Requirements
  • Basic knowledge of Navaids equipment (e.g., ILS, VOR, TACAN, DME, ADSB, MLAT, WAM) and air traffic management regulations/standards (EN, ICAO, etc.).
  • Proficiency with issue tracking software (e.g., Jira) and requirement management tools (e.g., DOORS).
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker with a strong curiosity to learn.
  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
