Telespazio, part of the Leonardo Space Division, is seeking a System Engineer to support the Galileo Control Center at the Fucino Space Center. The role focuses on secure operations, formulation of SOPs, and monitoring cryptographic systems across the Galileo constellation.

Ideal candidates have a technical degree with 0-3 years of experience, proficiency in English, and basic cryptography, networking and programming knowledge.

Inside the Fucino Space Center, we are looking for a System Engineer to support the Galileo Control Center.

Mission:

The Galileo Mission Segment (GMS) of the Galileo GNSS (Global Navigation Satellite System) manages mission operations by computing navigation data and time corrections, while ensuring the integrity and quality of the signal through continuous monitoring of user-transmitted data.

The Secure Operation Engineer operates within the GMS, carrying out a dedicated set of tasks and responsibilities.

Operational Activities

• Conduct operational requirements analysis, focusing on Classified Operations.
• Analyze KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) and identify processes and procedures to ensure compliance.
• Develop and maintain SOPs (Secure Operations Procedures) for managing secure ground and space segments.
• Manage and continuously monitor spaceborne cryptographic systems across the entire Galileo constellation.
• Execute operational procedures under nominal and contingency conditions.
• Manage critical operational situations to safeguard service continuity.
• Perform acceptance testing for new constellation satellites post-final orbital insertion and prior to commissioning.
• Provide 24/7 on-call support.

System Evolution

• Participate and engage in system development phases.
• Review and analyze operational documentation.
• Validate new systems in compliance with ECSS standards.
• Contribute to the identification and preparation of migration activities.
• Participate in and execute factory test campaigns for the new G2G (Galileo Second Generation) satellites.

Offline Activities

• Interface with security authorities.
• Participate in periodic meetings regarding system evolution, planning, and anomaly management.

Required Technical & Language Skills

• Bachelor or Master Degree in a technical field, such as Computer Science, Electronics, or similar;
• 0-3 years of experience in similar role
• Proficiency in English;
• Basic knowledge of Cryptography;
• Basic knowledge of Networking;
• Basic knowledge of Programming;
• Good command of Microsoft Project, Visio, and Office Suite;
• Knowledge of Linux Operating System is highly appreciated.
