WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

System Administrator Linux – Freelance or Fixed-Term

Location: (on-site, 5 days/week)

Join our client’s elite technical team in Rome, supporting key activities for European space programs. The company is a long-standing partner of space agencies and institutions, with deep expertise in IT systems, operations, and engineering support for ground segment infrastructures.

We are looking for a hands-on System Administrator with a solid Linux background, familiarity with databases, and a B2 level of English. If you’re curious about space, eager to work in a structured and international context, and ready to support a technically robust environment — this role is for you.

YOUR TASKS

• Provide operational and system-level support for test and validation environments

• Support the writing and review of technical documentation

• Participate in system verification and validation activities

• Interface with technical teams during testing and deployment phases

• Assist with monitoring, log analysis, and problem troubleshooting

• Collaborate with engineers to ensure system integrity during operational phases

YOUR SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• Good knowledge of Linux environments

• Familiarity with at least one relational database (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, etc.)

• English proficiency (minimum B2) – written and spoken

• Ability to work on-site 5 days per week in Rome

• Proactive attitude and willingness to collaborate in a team

Nice to have:

• Previous experience in technical documentation or test validation

• Experience with virtualization (e.g., VMware)

• Knowledge of basic scripting or automation

• Background in aerospace/space/defense sectors

• Work location:Rome (Tor Tre Teste area – well connected by public transport and with parking available)
• Work mode: 100% on-site,5 days per week (Monday to Friday)
• Type of contract:
  • Freelance or Fixed-Term Contract until January 2026
  • Possible extension, depending on project evolution
