Part-Time Opportunity : Sustainable (Junior) Designer for Impact

Duration : 3 to 6 Months (with potential to extend)

Start Date : August / December 2025

Company : Hubbers — From Dreams to Impact

About Hubbers

Hubbers is a global innovation ecosystem where creators, experts, and dreamers unite to design a more sustainable future. From AI-powered SaaS tools to purpose-driven communities and collaborative brands , everything we do is grounded in the UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

At Hubbers, we don’t just recruit — we co-create.

About the Role

We’re looking for part-time Sustainable Designers ready to use human-centered design thinking to tackle real-world challenges and help bring to life new collaborative brands.

This isn’t a traditional "job" — it’s a journey into co-creation. You’ll be working on concrete projects such as :

Developing greywater recycling systems (SDG 6 : Clean Water and Sanitation) for urban gardens and tiny homes to reduce water waste and support urban food resilience.

Designing programs to recover and redistribute used solar panels (SDG 7 : Affordable and Clean Energy) , making clean energy more accessible to underserved communities while reducing waste.

Creating circular economy micro-distilleries (SDG 12 : Responsible Consumption and Production) , transforming food and beverage waste into premium spirits and supporting local economies.

Launching rewilding kits and biodiversity hubs (SDG 15 : Life on Land) to restore native ecosystems in urban and rural spaces, empowering communities to support biodiversity.

Co-creating an air quality awareness and action brand (SDG 3 : Good Health and Well-being) with one of France’s top air quality monitoring leaders, including community challenges, creative data storytelling, and citizen science toolkits to empower urban residents and digital nomads.

Helping shape new digital nomad brands (SDG 12 & SDG 13 : Responsible Consumption and Production & Climate Action) , developing regenerative services and community-centered tools that support conscious, flexible, and climate-resilient lifestyles around the world.

These are just a few of the 34 collaborative brands you might help shape — each aligned with an SDG and designed to empower communities through innovation.

Two Tracks — Choose Your Journey

Experienced Track

For professionals ready to lead design processes, facilitate innovation programs, and co-pilot brand development.

Learning Track

For those at the beginning of their journey. You’ll start with our Impact Generator School (IGS) to build a solid foundation in design thinking, sustainability, and regenerative innovation — then move into real-world projects.

What You’ll Do

Apply sustainable design thinking methods to uncover user needs, reframe problems, and identify impactful opportunities (as taught in our IGS program).

Co-create new community-powered brands and regenerative products using participatory and human-centered approaches.

Support or lead design contests and open innovation challenges, facilitating ideation and collaborative prototyping.

Develop and test rapid prototypes, iterating solutions to maximize positive social and environmental impact.

Integrate systems thinking and circular design strategies to ensure long-term resilience and SDG alignment.

Contribute to brand storytelling, visual identity, and strategic positioning — helping turn complex ideas into clear, inspiring narratives.

Who You Are

  • Passionate about sustainability and social innovation
  • Curious, open-minded, and collaborative
  • Comfortable navigating uncertainty and iterative processes
  • Interested in community-driven design and decentralized innovation
  • Familiar with design and collaboration tools (e.g., Figma, Miro, Canva) — or eager to learn
  • Fluent in English (extra languages a plus)
