Descrizione del lavoro

Sustainability Junior GIS Analyst

WSP is the world's leading engineering company, specialising in infrastructure, transport, environment, energy and buildings.

We have a clear vision of how we want to help make the world a better place, by giving back to communities and supporting what's really important for our future.

Due to significant commercial growth in this sector, WSP Italia is looking to strengthen its Digital Innovation team with a new Sustainability GIS Analyst. Learn more about us at WSP.

You’ll have the chance to join one of the world’s leading and most recognised international design firms, working on projects that help shape the future. You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary and international team supporting clients in tackling design challenges across various sectors, in Italy and globally.

The role involves supporting the management of geodatabases, spatial analysis, and map production for national and international sustainability analysis projects. You’ll work with data from field activities, satellite imagery, and environmental databases, analysing them to produce visual and cartographic outputs, with possible base in Torino, Roma or Rende.

In this role, you’ll join a multidisciplinary team that embodies our core values: solidarity, a passion for large-scale and complex projects, and a spirit of innovation and collaboration.

YOUR NEW ROLE, WHATS INVOLVED?

As part of the team, you’ll contribute to acquiring, analysing and visualising georeferenced data, ensuring accuracy and reliability across various projects.

Your work will include producing detailed outputs and technical documents, transforming complex data into meaningful insights that support sustainability analyses. You’ll support the management of geodatabases for reporting and conduct research using international datasets. You’ll also help develop workflow automation procedures to optimise data processing and improve efficiency.

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s degree in Geography and Territorial Sciences, Environmental Economics, Urban and Regional Planning, Architecture, Digital Skills for Sustainable Societal Transition, or a master’s degree in environmental disciplines (or equivalent).

A strong foundation in GIS software is essential, with preference for experience using Earthsoft and ESRI tools. Familiarity with databases, advanced Excel, BI tools, and programming languages is a plus, enabling efficient data processing and automation.

Beyond technical skills, the role requires strong teamwork abilities, as collaboration with colleagues and stakeholders is a key part of daily responsibilities.

Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication, and a proactive attitude toward learning new digital skills is highly valued.

Attention to detail and precision are critical to ensure data accuracy and compliance with environmental standards.
