Job Description:

The Sustainability and Financial Risk Specialist, within the Finance department, will lead the integration of sustainability reporting and financial risk management focused exclusively on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) factors for Angelini Pharma.

This role ensures compliance with IFRS standards, Italian regulations, and international ESG frameworks, embedding ESG considerations into corporate financial strategies. The specialist will enhance the company’s sustainability reporting and manage financial risks solely related to ESG elements, aligning with its global operations and sustainability goals.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sustainability Reporting:
  • Oversee the sustainability reporting process, ensuring accurate data collection and consolidation for comprehensive ESG reporting.
  • Prepare high-quality sustainability reports compliant with global standards (e.g., GRI, SASB, TCFD, CDP) and Italian/EU regulations, including the EU Non-Financial Reporting Directive (NFRD) and Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD).
  • Collaborate with finance and sustainability teams to standardize ESG data for reporting, ensuring alignment with multinational regulatory requirements.
  • Analyze and report key sustainability metrics to inform stakeholder engagement and strategic financial planning.
  • Provide financial insights to integrate ESG considerations into corporate finance strategies, such as capital allocation and investment decisions.
  • Stay updated on evolving EU and global sustainability regulations, ensuring compliance and adoption of best practices.
  • Financial Risk Management:
  • Identify, assess, and help to mitigate financial risks tied to ESG factors (e.g., climate change, social compliance, governance issues) using IFRS-compliant methodologies, including IFRS 9 (Financial Instruments) and IFRS 13 (Fair Value Measurement).
  • Develop and refine risk management policies tailored to the company’s ownership structure and multinational operations.
  • Perform scenario analysis, stress testing, and predictive modeling to evaluate financial impacts of ESG risks, such as carbon pricing, regulatory shifts, or stakeholder expectationsMonitor risk exposure, addressing issues like geopolitical risks, reputational risks, or governance-related financial impacts, and recommend mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with IFRS reporting requirements and Italian financial regulations (e.g., Bank of Italy guidelines) for ESG-related financial disclosures, supporting internal and external audits. Integrate sustainability metrics and financial risk considerations into corporate finance processes, including budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Act as a liaison between finance and sustainability teams, aligning ESG reporting with financial objectives.
  • Develop and deliver training on ESG metrics and risk management to enhance financial decision-making across the organization.
  • Support the incorporation of sustainability considerations into corporate finance strategies, balancing profitability with long-term ESG goals.

Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in finance, economics, business administration, or a related field.
  • 8-10 years of experience in corporate finance with at least 5 years in sustainability reporting and related financial risk management, ideally in a multinational setting.
  • Knowledge of ESG reporting regulations and standards (CSRD, ESRS, European Taxonomy, double materiality) coupled with IFRS standards and Italian financial regulations
  • Proficiency in sustainability reporting platforms and financial modeling tools (e.g., Excel, Bloomberg, SAP) for ESG risk analysis and reporting.
  • Fluency in Italian and English; additional languages are a plus.
  • Proven ability to navigate complex international ESG regulatory landscapes and manage cross-functional initiatives.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience coordinating global sustainability and risk reporting projects.
  • Analytical Thinking: Synthesizes complex ESG data and financial risk insights into strategic recommendations.
  • Attention to Detail: Ensures accuracy in IFRS-compliant ESG reporting and risk metrics.
  • Strategic Vision: Aligns sustainability and risk strategies with corporate finance objectives.
