As a Sustainability Compliance Auditor at IKEA, you'll play a pivotal role in embedding sustainability into our supply chain. As a Sustainability Compliance Auditor, you will support business teams and work closely with others daily. You will ensure that all IKEA requirements related to sustainability are met by IKEA business partners in the Purchasing & Logistics Area South. This involves performing IWAY (IKEA Supplier Code of Conduct) and other sustainability compliance verifications, implementation, and support activities according to relevant working methods.

Purpose of the job

The purpose of the Sustainability Compliance Auditor in the Purchasing Operations Area South is to support the business in implementing and verifying sustainability-related requirements. The role also involves ensuring understanding and adherence to IWAY and Supply Chain Security WoW.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and perform IWAY verification, implementation, and support activities at IKEA business partners.
  • Conduct initial sustainability compliance assessments for new suppliers.
  • Perform root cause analysis of non-compliance and facilitate understanding with suppliers to achieve compliance.
  • Gather and analyze information to assess compliance, using auditing methods including interviews, and ensure accurate verification documentation.
  • Work with business teams to set priorities and goals for categories and suppliers to drive sustainability actions.
  • Collect, verify, and report sustainability data, providing analysis to support supplier development.
  • Facilitate sustainability-related training for business teams and suppliers.
  • Act as an ambassador of IKEA values.

Qualifications

  • University degree in sustainability or engineering fields (environmental, chemical, mechanical, forestry, industrial).
  • Knowledge of global and local sustainability trends and their business impacts.
  • Understanding of different industrial setups, market conditions, and macro-economic factors.
  • Familiarity with supply chains and ability to lead sustainable business projects.
  • Knowledge of management systems like ISO 14001, SA8000, OHSAS.
  • Good understanding of IWAY, IKEA Code of Conduct, and verification skills.
  • Proficiency with project management tools and methodologies.
  • Interest in people’s lives at home; energy, drive, and commitment to delivering better products for many people.

Fluency in at least three languages among French, Portuguese/Spanish, and English is required.

  • Willingness to travel frequently.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Active driver with a valid license.
