SURFACE-GRAPHIC DESIGNER

Patricia Urquiola Studio is looking for a talented Surface-Graphic Designer to join our team in Milan, Italy.

We are looking for a passionate and experienced collaborator to join the décor design department and work on a wide range of surface-focused projects for international clients. Sensitive and talented, the ideal candidate must have a minimum of 4 years’ relevant experience and a deep understanding of materials, graphics, and surface applications within both product and interior contexts.

What you’ll do

• Concept and idea development for decorative and functional surfaces
• Design of wallcoverings, printed and woven textiles, and graphic materials for furniture or interior products
• Creation of 2D graphics, illustrations, patterns, and composition studies
• Material research and preparation of technical files for suppliers and producers
• Collaboration with clients, manufacturers, and internal teams throughout the development process

What we are looking for

• 4+ years of experience in the entire creative process, including trend and visual research, concept development, 2D design and illustration, pattern creation, and coordination with production partners.
• A strong sensibility for materials and their graphic potential is essential.
• Deep knowledge of current trends in surface, textile, and graphic design
• Excellent Adobe Creative Suite proficiency (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign)
• Experience in designing for different materials and production techniques
• Great teamwork and communication skills
• Excellent organizational and time management capabilities

Languages

• Italian highly appreciated
• Spanish or French considered a plus
