A Day in the Life

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work with Medtronic’s Patient Monitoring, Respiratory Interventions business. If you are an experienced Supply Chain Planning Manager interested in working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, you will participate directly in building new manufacturing processes, developing, implementing, and qualifying production equipment and methods, and generating testing protocols and reports.

The Respiratory Intervention Group develops life-restoring therapies and healthcare solutions across the care continuum. Our plant (Mallinckrodt DAR) in Mirandola, part of the Machined Implantable, Capital and Disposable Operations cluster, serves our Respiratory Intervention Operating Unit to deliver solutions that prevent and manage respiratory failure.

Responsibilities may include:
  1. Performing supply chain functions such as material procurement, production planning, and inventory control.
  2. Creating integrated processes among internal functions (operations, purchasing, logistics) and outside suppliers.
  3. Planning and analyzing activities related to procurement, inventory, and production materials.
  4. Developing and maintaining policies, procedures, and material control systems to reduce costs and streamline procedures.
  5. Supervising raw material supply to ensure production continuity and safety stock levels.
  6. Managing production schedules to meet requirements and service targets.
  7. Collaborating with global demand and supply planning teams and logistics planners.
  8. Supporting continuous improvement initiatives.
  9. Meeting financial objectives related to inventory, cash flow, and cost control.
  10. Ensuring compliance with corporate policies.
  11. Managing End Of Life materials with suppliers and internal teams.
  12. Creating reports on KPIs, projects, and activities.
  13. Supervising team activities, motivating, and evaluating performance.
  14. Promoting hiring, firing, and professional development.
Required Knowledge and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or Business; Master’s preferred.
  • 3-6 years of materials planning experience, ideally in medical technology or manufacturing.
  • Strong communication skills and understanding of supply chain processes.
  • Proficiency in IT systems, including advanced Excel and MRP systems.
  • Fluent in English.

Preferred qualifications include familiarity with Lean and Six Sigma, project management skills, and certifications like APICS or PMI.
