Description
Hitachi Rail is looking for an enthusiastic, self-motivated Supply Chain Manager who thrives in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate is comfortable performing a wide range of tasks from administrative to strategic. The position is based in Turin, Italy.
Accountabilities
For activities on high complexity projects/bids or on medium/small complexity international projects/bids:
- Ensure the issuance of an estimation of the overall external costs on high complexity bids;
- Ensure external cost planning and forecasting (materials, services, packages, subcontractors) during project execution in collaboration with the cost controlling department;
- Ensure the submission of all project Supply Chain inputs required to define and issue the Integrated Project Plan;
- Distribute planning and logistics documents (Logistic Plan, MPS, Inventory Report, etc.) to project teams;
- Coordinate all planning and logistics activities among different legal entities to ensure timely material delivery, including spare parts and repairs;
- Initiate production based on project requirements (Transfer orders, Purchase orders, etc.) aligned with the project schedule;
- Issue Purchase Requests for materials, services, packages, and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery;
- Prepare and align supplier logistics and supply planning documentation with contractual requirements;
- Monitor and report supplier performance regarding production, FAT, lead time, shipment, warehouse management, and contractual compliance;
- Identify and implement mitigation actions for potential supplier performance misalignments;
- Create SES (Service Entry Sheet) and WPC (Work Progress Certificate) based on supplier milestones to authorize invoicing.
For international projects involving multiple legal entities and complex packages:
- Ensure timely material delivery in accordance with the Integrated Project Schedule and Budget;
- Optimize synergies among projects to improve delivery efficiency;
- Continuously improve Supply Chain Planning processes, especially cross-functional activities;
- Finalize and submit external cost estimations (make and buy).
Performance Criteria
- Complete and issue CET form aligned with bid schedule;
- Deliver materials and services per the Project Schedule;
- Identify mitigation actions for potential delays;
- Compare actual external costs to budget and forecast;
- Regularly update and report external costs and inventory figures.
Required Skills / Knowledge
- Technical Bachelor's degree or equivalent background;
- 5 to 7 years of experience in Supply Chain;
- Knowledge of Contracts, Project Management, Supplier Management, Procurement planning, Vendor monitoring, Reporting, Risk Management, Continuous improvement, Documentation management, MPS-MRP techniques, Cost Control & Budgeting, Logistics and Warehouse Management, Organizational & Company Processes;
- Languages: Italian (fluent), English (fluent).
