Job summary

ZEISS in Castiglione Olona, Italy, is seeking a Junior Supply Chain Manager to coordinate local logistics, demand and supply planning, inventory control and transport activities. The role supports product availability, service continuity and cost control while guiding the local Supply Chain team.

Requirements include a degree in a relevant field, at least five years in project management, and strong Excel/ERP skills. Fluency in Italian and English (min B2) is required.

We’re looking for a Junior Supply Chain Manager to join us in Castiglione Olona, Italy. Occasional travel may be required.

Your Role

The Junior Supply Chain Manager coordinates the main local logistics activities, including demand and supply planning for finished products, inventory management and inbound and outbound transportation.

The role supports product availability, service continuity, balanced inventory levels and cost control, while coordinating the local Supply Chain team and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

The role of Junior Supply Chain Manager will involve:

• Developing and regularly updating demand and supply plans based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, lead times and business needs.
• Managing inventory policies, safety stock levels and replenishment parameters to support product availability and inventory accuracy.
• Planning, coordinating and monitoring inbound and outbound transportation activities, including carrier performance, delivery times and transportation costs.
• Monitoring supply chain KPIs and supporting continuous improvement and digitalisation projects to improve efficiency, operational visibility and service performance.
• Leading and developing the local Supply Chain team, while working closely with internal departments, ZEISS Group functions, suppliers and external logistics partners.

Your Experience

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration or a similar field.

A minimum of five years' experience in project management and team coordination.

Knowledge of demand and supply planning, inventory management, warehouse and logistics processes, and inbound and outbound transportation.

Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, experience with ERP and MRP systems, and the ability to analyse complex operational data.

Fluent Italian and a good professional command of English, both written and spoken, at a minimum B2 level.

It would be desirable if you had:

• Previous experience in Supply Chain, logistics, planning, inventory management, warehouse operations or transportation within a manufacturing, distribution or regulated business environment.
• Experience with SAP, reporting and business intelligence tools, preferably Microsoft Power BI.
• Professional certifications in Supply Chain Management, Lean Management, Logistics or Project Management, and experience in an international or matrix organisation.

Role Details

Location: Castiglione Olona, Italy.

The position is mainly office-based, with regular presence in warehouse and logistics areas. Occasional travel to suppliers, logistics partners, ZEISS sites or Group meetings may be required. Flexibility is required to manage operational emergencies, supply issues and critical logistics situations.

Salary: €40,000–€45,000 gross per annum (RAL), plus bonus and benefits.
