Job summary

ZEISS seeks a Junior Supply Chain Manager in Castiglione Olona, Italy, to coordinate demand and supply planning for finished products, inventory management and inbound/outbound transportation. The role supports product availability, service continuity and cost control while leading the local Supply Chain team.

You will develop plans from forecasts, manage safety stock and coordinate transport, while analyzing data to drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration or a similar field.
• Minimum of five years' experience in project management and team coordination.
• Knowledge of demand and supply planning, inventory management, warehouse and logistics processes, and inbound and outbound transportation.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel, experience with ERP and MRP systems, and the ability to analyse complex operational data.
• Fluent Italian and a good professional command of English, both written and spoken, at a minimum B2 level.

Responsibilities

• Develop and regularly update demand and supply plans based on sales forecasts, inventory levels, lead times and business needs.
• Manage inventory policies, safety stock levels and replenishment parameters to support product availability and inventory accuracy.
• Plan, coordinate and monitor inbound and outbound transportation activities, including carrier performance, delivery times and transportation costs.
• Monitor supply chain KPIs and support continuous improvement and digitalisation projects to improve efficiency, operational visibility and service performance.
• Lead and develop the local Supply Chain team, while working closely with internal departments, ZEISS Group functions, suppliers and external logistics partners.

We're looking for a Junior Supply Chain Manager to join us in Castiglione Olona, Italy. Occasional travel may be required.

Carl Zeiss Vision Italia's Operations team supports demand and supply planning, inventory management and logistics activities, working closely with internal departments, ZEISS Group functions and external logistics partners.

This role offers an excellent development opportunity for someone looking to progress into broader Supply Chain Management, starting with a focus on logistics and team leadership before gradually expanding their responsibilities across procurement, supply planning and international collaboration.

Your Role

The Junior Supply Chain Manager coordinates the main local logistics activities, including demand and supply planning for finished products, inventory management and inbound and outbound transportation. The role supports product availability, service continuity, balanced inventory levels and cost control, while coordinating the local Supply Chain team and supporting continuous improvement initiatives.

Your Experience

A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Management Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Economics, Business Administration or a similar field.

It would be desirable if you had:

• Previous experience in Supply Chain, logistics, planning, inventory management, warehouse operations or transportation within a manufacturing, distribution or regulated business environment.
• Experience with SAP, reporting and business intelligence tools, preferably Microsoft Power BI.
• Professional certifications in Supply Chain Management, Lean Management, Logistics or Project Management, and experience in an international or matrix organisation.

Role Details

Location: Castiglione Olona, Italy.

The position is mainly office-based, with regular presence in warehouse and logistics areas. Occasional travel to suppliers, logistics partners, ZEISS sites or Group meetings may be required. Flexibility is required to manage operational emergencies, supply issues and critical logistics situations.

Salary: €40,000-€45,000 gross per annum (RAL), plus bonus and benefits.
