In this role, you will drive excellence in quality, delivery, and compliance for the supply base. You will ensure global processes are understood and implemented by the SCM network. As a Supplier Quality Expert for Metal Components (steel structures, Al / Cu welded parts, contacts), you will work closely with Hitachi Energy's High Voltage Supply Chain, Technical Center, Group Product Service Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, and the Global SCM team to support supplier quality requirements for high voltage commodities and suppliers.
How You’ll Make An Impact
- Develop and lead PPAP qualification plans, process / product verification, and supplier surveillance programs
- Participate in supplier technical review meetings, approval processes, and internal product introduction processes
- Drive process optimization using statistical methodologies to improve critical quality characteristics
- Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) and implement FMEA for process improvement and corrective actions
- Reduce Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) by integrating customer and factory feedback into supplier processes
- Support SQEs, product engineering, and key suppliers in achieving industry-leading standards
- Lead global quality initiatives, failure analyses, and special projects for steel structures and welded aluminum / copper components
- Plan and conduct supplier audits to ensure compliance with global quality requirements
- Collaborate closely with Category Teams to implement strategies and support supplier selection, classification, and development
Your Background
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or relevant technical field from an accredited university or college
- Fluent in English, capable of leading technical conference calls, reading drawings and procedures in English
- 7+ years of experience in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Process Quality, preferably with Steel structures and welded parts
- Ability to work in cross-functional and global team environments
- Willingness to travel up to 40% as required
- Lean Six Sigma Green / Black Belt certification or equivalent quality training
