Westinghouse Electric Company in Italy seeks a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer to lead supplier QA activities, audits, and surveillance for ASME B&PV code materials and components. You will report to the Senior Manager, Supplier Quality NSSS and work in a hybrid setup in Monfalcone, with relocation assistance for eligible candidates.

Responsibilities include developing surveillance plans, overseeing QA programs, and ensuring compliance with NRC/ASME standards across global suppliers.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
• 5+ years of experience as a supplier quality professional or similar role.
• Experience with ISO 9001 / AS9100 / ASME NQA-1 quality management systems.
• NQA-1 Lead Auditor experience is desirable.
• Audit and supplier surveillance experience required.

About The Role

As a Principal Supplier Quality Engineer you will perform supplier quality activities including audits/assessments, surveys, inspections, oversight, and verification at Westinghouse supplier facilities. You will be part of the APX Supplier Quality Team with a specific focus on suppliers providing ASME Boiler & Pressure Vessel (B&PV) Code materials and components for the AP1000 Nuclear Steam Supply System (NSSS).

You will report to the Senior Manager, Supplier Quality NSSS. This is a hybrid position based in Monfalcone, Italy, requiring onsite presence three days per week. Relocation assistance is provided for eligible candidates.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier surveillance and oversight plans to ensure compliance with quality and technical standards.
• Resolve supplier quality issues which adversely impact product quality.
• Perform independent assessments and oversight to confirm that suppliers have established and implemented an effective quality management system. This system must ensure that nuclear safety-related and/or ASME B&PV Code Section III materials, and components meet all quality, regulatory, and customer requirements specified in purchasing documents.
• Monitor progress to achieve established quality goals within budgetary and schedule constraints.
• Create certification documents, which identify the procurement requirements met by the purchased material or equipment, such as codes, standards, and other specifications imposed by Westinghouse Customers, for major equipment and components.
• Lead assessments of the global supply base to ensure compliance with applicable regulations, codes and standards.
• Evaluate supplier quality plans and processes to verify compliance with quality and technical requirements defined by Westinghouse Engineering.
• Apply advanced quality control techniques and statistical methods for collection of deficiency information to identify failure causes and trends, rate performance and measure the effectiveness of supplier QA programs, and internal processes.
• Write detailed segments of QA plans/programs according to current U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC), Westinghouse and customer QA standards for nuclear and non-nuclear facilities.
• Implement policies on scope and retention requirements of quality assurance documentation.

Qualifications:

• A bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline
• 5+ years of experience as a Supplier Quality Professional or similar role is required.
• NQA-1 Certified Lead Auditor experience is desirable.
• Proficiency in using several inspection tools like calipers, gauges, micrometers, and specialized testing equipment (IM&TE) is desirable.
• Competency with generating, reviewing, approving, and archiving electronic quality documents and records.
• Audit and supplier source surveillance experience is required.
• Experience operating within a formal quality management system (for example ISO 9001, AS9100, ASME NQA-1) is required
• Valid passport (or ability to obtain one) is required, as is ability to travel internationally
• Up to 40 to 50% travel per month is required to supplier sites

We are committed to transparency and equity in all of our people practices. The gross base salary range for this position, which is dependent upon experience, qualifications and skills, is estimated to be €51,800 to €64,900 per year.
