We are seeking a Quality Engineer with specialized expertise in Printed Circuit Board Assembly (PCBA) to evaluate and ensure the quality of suppliers' manufacturing processes and products. This role is specifically focused on the assessment of PCBA manufacturing processes. The Quality Engineer will not be conducting general Quality Management System (QMS) audits but will instead focus on ensuring the quality, reliability, and compliance of the supplier's manufacturing capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Qualification of new suppliers
• Conduct detailed technical and quality assessments of PCBA manufacturing processes at suppliers' facilities
• Assess the supplier’s manufacturing processes, quality management systems, and adherence to regulatory requirements
• Review and validate supplier documentation, including process flow diagrams, control plans, and quality reports
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards such as IPC-A-610 (for PCBA), ISO 9001, and other applicable regulations
• Review assessment reports for consistency and alignment with client guidelines, ensuring thoroughness and clarity
• Management of supplier nonconformities (NCRs) and Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and 8D reports
• Work closely with suppliers to identify areas for improvement and recommend corrective actions where necessary
• Perform and support in-depth technical analysis and failure mode evaluations for PCBA assemblies

Required Qualifications

• Good knowledge of industry standards, including IPC-A-610, IPC-A-600, IPC-A-620, J-STD-001, ISO 9001, and others relevant to PCBA processes
• Skilled in evaluating and analyzing manufacturing processes, failure modes, potential risks and risk level assessing in PCBA production
• Familiarity with tools and methods for assessing product quality and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with suppliers, clients, and internal teams
• Detail-oriented with the ability to thoroughly review reports and documentation for accuracy and compliance

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in PCBA manufacturing and inspection
• General Knowledge of CEI EN 61340-5-1, CEI EN 61340-5-2 and other “ESD” applicable standards
• Good knowledge of electronic components and related datasheets is required
• Ability to read and understand electrical diagrams, bill of materials, testing procedures and other technical documentation for PCBA manufacturing.
