Job summary

The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel, is seeking a Housekeeping Supervisor to lead daily housekeeping operations in a luxury Venetian setting. You will oversee room quality, coordinate with Engineering and Front Office, and drive high standards of service in a 40-hour work week.

Ideal candidates will have prior housekeeping supervisory experience, strong attention to detail, and fluency in Italian and English.

Qualifications

• Legal right to work in Italy for a full-time role (40 hours/week).
• At least intermediate Italian and English.
• Previous housekeeping supervisory experience is a big plus.
• Understanding of rooms operations in luxury hospitality.
• Technical knowledge of Opera (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, pool, etc. to ensure quality standards after cleaning.
• Run room reports, verify status, prioritize room cleaning, and update departures.
• Assist housekeeping management in daily activities.
• Coordinate efforts of Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
• Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms with Front Desk.
• Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in assignment sheets and workboards.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Assist management in training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, and coaching employees.
• Follow all safety, security policies and procedures; report hazards and incidents.

The Gritti Palace, a Luxury Collection Hotel belonging to Marriott International, is currently recruiting for a Housekeeping Supervisor.

It is a permanent, full-time role (40-hour working week made of 8 hours per 5 days and 2 days off).

What you’ll do

• Inspect guest rooms, public areas, pool, etc. after being cleaned by Housekeeper to ensure quality standards.
• Run sold room reports, verify room status, determine discrepant rooms, prioritize room cleaning, and update status of departing guest rooms.
• Assist Housekeeping management in managing daily activities.
• Act as a liaison to coordinate the efforts of Housekeeping, Engineering, Front Office, and Laundry.
• Document and resolve issues with discrepant rooms with the Front Desk.
• Prepare, distribute, and communicate changes in assignment sheets/workboards. Communicate issues to next shift.
• Complete required paperwork.
• Assist management in training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, and motivating and coaching employees.
• Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures;
• Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
• Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
• Support all co-workers and treat them with dignity and respect.
• Support team to reach common goals.
• Comply with quality assurance expectations and standards.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems. Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by the Housekeeper Manager.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures and the brand guidelines

What we’re looking for

• You must possess the legal right to work in Italy. Valid work permit for full time role (40 hours/week).
• At least intermediate Italian and English
• Previous housekeeping supervisory experience is a big plus
• Understanding of rooms operations and luxury hospitality
• Ideally, technical knowledge of Opera
• Reliability, Motivation, attention to details
• Strong passion for luxury housekeeping standards and procedures
