Job summary

Pierce Engineers, Inc. is offering a Structural Intern position to support engineers and technicians in a professional structural engineering office. This role provides exposure to building modeling, drawing production, and plan development using BIM software.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or an Engineering Drafting degree, with BIM experience preferred. The position includes field surveys and various engineering administrative tasks within a collaborative team

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or an Associate’s Degree in Engineering Drafting.
• Experience with Building Information Modeling (BIM) software (AutoCAD/Revit) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist on a variety of engineering projects with oversight from an engineer/mentor
• Develop working knowledge of analysis and plan production software (AutoCAD/Revit)
• Drawing production, building modeling, and applying established production standards to assignments
• Field surveys
• Review shop drawings, as directed
• Assist with engineering administrative activities
• Support miscellaneous projects and general administrative tasks

Job Summary:

The Structural Intern assists Structural Engineers and Technicians to gain exposure to work within a professional structural engineering office.

The Structural Intern should have a working knowledge of the structural systems that they are depicting and should strive to understand the relationship between building components. They should assist the Structural Engineer or Designer they are working with in exposing relational discrepancies in both plans and details.

• Assist on a variety of engineering projects with oversight from an engineer/mentor

• Drawing production, building modeling, and applying established production standards to assignments
• Field surveys

Education and Experience:

The salary range for this position is $19-$25/hour. The expected compensation range for this position is based on a number of factors, including but not limited to: individual education, qualifications, prior work experience, and work location.
