Descrizione del lavoro

RINA is currently recruiting for a Structural Engineer to join its office in Genoa or Naples, Italy within the Civil Engineering Division.

Mission

The role focuses on building structures design, configuring structures, choose appropriate building material and ensure the structural soundness of buildings and structures under the supervision of a principal engineer or a managing engineer..

Knowledge of Italian codes and standard is required.

Key Accountabilities

  • Design and analysis of structural elements to ensure they are safe, reliable, and cost-effective
  • Perform structural calculations on pressures, loads, and stresses
  • Consider the strength of construction materials and select appropriately;
  • Develop of engineering studies and analyses relevant to design, verification and certification of building structures; Provide technical advice on safe designs and construction
  • Obtain planning and/or building regulations approval
  • Analyze the configurations of the basic components of a structure;
  • Monitor and inspect all work carried out by contractors to ensure structural integrity
  • Inspect the properties to assess their conditions and foundations
  • Provide direct day-to-day support and oversight of project elements, visit sites to take measurements
  • Provide direct or indirect support to engineers or engineering teams by gathering data for permit applications, submitting documentation to officials and other day-today duties
  • Develop project schedules and deliverable timelines under the supervision of more experienced engineers
  • Prepare the technical deliverables (technical reports, project performance documentations and engineering drawings, etc.)
  • Prepare progress technical reports
  • Be aware and understand the Quality Policy and ensuring that all assigned activities are executed in accordance with the RINA QMS

Education

Bachelor’s Degree in Building Engineering or Civil Engineering

Qualifications

  • Experience: 4-5 years of experience in structural engineering or related fields. Experience with structural design, analysis, and project management is essential.
  • Technical Skills:
    • Expertise in designing and analyzing structural elements to ensure safety, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.
    • Proficiency in performing structural calculations on pressures, loads, and stresses using industry-standard software and methods.
    • Thorough understanding of construction materials and their strengths to appropriately select materials for structural elements.
    • Experience in developing engineering studies and analyses relevant to design, verification, and certification of building structures, with the ability to provide technical advice on safe designs and construction practices.
