Job summary

ABB Smart Buildings seeks a Category Manager in Italy (Rome) with hybrid flexibility. You will lead purchasing and logistics strategies to optimize cost, quality, and supplier reliability, and implement local sourcing plans aligned with business targets.

You will design procurement standards, negotiate with main suppliers, and drive compliance and training. Fluency in Italian and English, stakeholder management, and project leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years of experience in a similar procurement role.
• Strong knowledge of plastic and metal categories and market dynamics.
• Fluent in Italian and English (written and spoken).
• Able to manage projects, priorities and deadlines effectively.

Responsibilities

• Execute purchasing and logistics strategies to optimize costs, quality, and supplier reliability.
• Design and implement local sourcing plans to meet business targets.
• Apply procurement standards, tools, and processes to ensure quality, delivery and sustainability.
• Negotiate agreements with main suppliers and renew price lists and terms.
