The senior engineering role focuses on developing design basis, technical specifications, and proactively managing vendor interfaces for oil and gas petrochemical projects. It requires coordinating with multiple disciplines to identify and resolve scope changes while enforcing codes and the company QA system.

Responsibilities include design calculations for pressure vessels and tanks, technical reports, and ensuring timely deliverables with strong discipline integration and risk awareness.

Development of discipline design basis, technical specifications, proactive management of vendor technical interfaces, leadership in the identification, submittal and resolution of scope changes and deviations, and coordination with other disciplines. The position involves ensuring conformance to applicable engineering codes and standards as well as company QA system, policies, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

• Prepare and/or review design calculations for pressure vessels and tanks.
• Prepare and/or review technical specifications.
• Conduct inter-disciplinary delivery checking.
• Prepare and/or review technical clarification of pressure vessel vendor bids to ensure vendor compliance with relevant standards.
• Prepare and/or review technical reports to support order placement of air coolers, heat exchangers, storage tanks, specialist equipment, and filters to ensure vendor compliance with standards.
• Provide project technical support and demonstrate familiarity with risk assessments, design reviews, constructability, and Hazards and Operability (HAZOPs).
• Ensure quality and timelines for deliverables.
• Prepare and/or review vendor proposals and technical clarifications.
• Actively communicate with other disciplines to optimize areas of interface during design development.
• Coordinate the design effort to support materials requisitions and ensure these documents comply with technical project specifications.
• Analyze disputed items from technical and contractual aspects and prepare required official responses.
• Process and follow up on change order requests, prepare required justification worksheets, issue change order requests to contractors, and lead the scope alignment process with contractors.

Requirements

• Education: Bachelor of Science in Engineering or equivalent; chartered status is preferable.
• Experience: 10-15 years in oil and gas industry petrochemical projects.
• Knowledge: Good working knowledge of relevant standards and procedures, and international standards.
• Language: Good knowledge of English, both written and verbal.
