Job Description

As a Staff Engineer in Firmware Engineering, you will contribute to the development of high-quality firmware by driving requirements engineering, conducting reviews, and ensuring traceability throughout the software development process. You will also define, create, and maintain comprehensive design and testing documentation, ensuring alignment with project needs and customer requirements.

In your role, you will:

  1. Contribute to embedded software development, focusing on implementing and maintaining firmware components under mentorship.
  2. Assist in ensuring process and project compliance by supporting requirements engineering, reviews, and traceability.
  3. Collaborate in creating and maintaining design and testing documentation.
  4. Support setup, maintenance, and enhancement of CI/CD pipelines and test automation frameworks.
  5. Contribute to setting up and maintaining GitLab pipelines for projects.
  6. Perform initial setup and basic maintenance of code quality tools like Coverity and PCLint under supervision.
  7. Assist in configuring hardware components for CI/CD infrastructure.
  8. Collaborate with other teams to manage project dependencies and integrations.
  9. Participate in quality and productivity improvement initiatives by suggesting ideas and learning industry best practices.
  10. Work proactively in an agile environment.
Your Profile

You play a collaborative role in agile teams, managing interdependencies and fostering a productive development environment. You seek to improve quality and efficiency by adopting best practices and introducing innovative solutions. Excellent communication skills are essential for smooth stakeholder collaboration and project success.

You are best equipped if you have:

  • A degree in IT, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related fields.
  • At least 3+ years of embedded software development experience and exposure to hardware-based test automation.
  • Familiarity with embedded toolchains (e.g., Clang, GCC, Make, CMake).
  • Good problem-solving and debugging skills with mentorship guidance.
  • Knowledge of the software development life cycle, ideally with ASPICE processes.
  • Proficiency in C and basic Python.
  • Basic knowledge of coding standards like MISRA-C or CERT-C.
  • Hands-on experience with Git.
  • Exposure to Docker and pipeline automation.
  • Familiarity with shell scripting and virtual machines.
  • Basic understanding of Conan or Rust is a plus.
  • Fluency in English.
